In this writing C. Lee Gibson challenges the down side of the doctrine of Red Letter Christianity espoused by many today. On the surface this doctrine sounds nice and is not without its charms; however, when examined more closely it is inherently dangerous to the propagation of the Gospel. In strong language she goes so far as to call it a heresy and hopes that the readers of this book will be challenged to rethink their perspective on the topic.
This doctrine, meant to “nice-ify” the Bible and Christianity so as to make it more palatable for the masses, instead renders it powerless to effect change in the hearers. This new, adulterated message is so far removed from authentic Christianity it is unrecognizable.
